Finally I managed to do it.
These past 3 months I have really seen how many sites use java code for different things. Not having the java plugin working in linux is a MAJOR issue and one of a few good reasons to boot up windows for me.
The problem is that the 64bit versions of java plugins for firefox doesn’t seem to work out-of-the-box as the 32bit version does. But there is a solution.
There are tons of sites out there that explain different procedures for installing the javaplugin for firefox.
Thank to this guide (robinbowes.com) and this guide (ubuntuforums.org).
First of I linked to the javaplugin to ~/.mozilla/plugins but that eliminated the browsers history. Ultimatively I linked it to /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.8/plugins
That restored the history functionality but I had to reinstall addons and retype all my logins. So now everything is working. At least until I upgrade my firefox I believe.

April 21, 2009board games in sweden
March 11, 2009The weekend before last I joined up with 3 friends Hans, Mathias and Drud and went to Hans’ parents derelict farm in Sweden. We went Thursday evening and returned Monday evening.
At the cabin we RPG’ed and played a lot of different board games.
We also fooled around on the thin ice on some small local lakes watching the ice slowly break beneath us. It was much fun. Drud went through when he least expected it!
We made pigs in a blanket, meatballs (frikadeller), scalloped potatoes (flødekartofler), baked root crops with mushroom sauce and english breakfast for food. Good trip, I look forward to the next one!
February 24, 2009
My girlfriend and I went on a little stroll to the local movie theater
details here
We watched Twilight, a new vampire love story featuring brand new actors and actresses. It was a great movie with some new twists to vampires.
Oscars 2009
February 24, 2009Once more I attended the Oscar Night at Imperial. Included in the entry was a glas of champagne, lottery on the tickets, free coffee all night long, a goodie bag with snacks, croissants for breakfast and of course a movie.
They showed the big Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire Excellent feel good movie!
This year Hugh Jackman was hosting, although he is not keen on comedy he did provide a very good and jovial show.
This year the official TV2 Film studio was set up in the middle of Imperial for everyone to watch. So there was a lot of celebrities around including the talented film critic Søren Høy. I look forward to next years oscars. Remember to order tickets in good time. They were almost all sold out a month in advance.
home made brew
February 17, 2009Today we started adventuring with home made brews. As inexperienced as we are we bought a beginners beer kit containing processed malt and brewers yeast… minus brewers yeast…. The package was simple missing, so we used some bakers yeast instead.
We are aiming for a simple pilsner with an alcohol vol% of 4.6, we look forward to tasting it.. Problem is the brew is most likely not fermented and bottled until a couple of weeks have passed, so we are already planning starting another batch. All day long we have discussed topics of brewing, I didn’t even go to my lecture! This will most definitely turn into crazyness and hype I feel it already!
sunday chill
February 16, 2009After the long run
I spent the rest of the day at my girlfriends dormitory playing 1830 which is a monopoly like game. It took the rest of the day and I lost, but the game itself was great. Unfortunately it should be near impossible to get a hold of since it is not produced any more. Look forward to the next session

Baldurs Gate II macro
February 14, 2009Baldurs Gate II must be one of my all time favorite games. I have completed it several times since it was released in 2000 and still it amuses me.
In my effort to enjoy life more I have managed to create a simple Autohotkey script that saves a lot of time and effort when loading games (I do that a lot!). Basically it automatically checks all characters ready and begins loading via a simple keyboard shortcut.
I also posted my efforts at the Pocket Plane Group which is a community for Infinity Engine modders. I felt like contributing.
So silly and nerdy of me.
